The roof shell is made of four layers of reinforced fiberglass and is coated with a gel coat protecting against UV radiation. The special construction improves aerodynamics while providing excellent strength with low weight. Thermal insulation is integrated into the bottom, which reduces surface cooling at low temperatures, decreases condensation, and contributes to a pleasant and comfortable sleep.

This patented fabric for the Evolution series is designed to provide top-notch protection and durability. The fabric walls are made with a unique water-repellent treatment integrated into the fibers themselves, ensuring long-lasting waterproofness. Unlike other roof tents that rely on thin surface layers that can crack or peel over time, this fabric is designed to withstand harsh weather conditions.

Thanks to its UV-blocking properties, the fabric effectively protects you from harmful sun rays while maintaining a comfortable interior temperature. The high-quality microporous acrylic material reflects sunlight, reducing heat absorption and keeping the tent cool during hot days. Additionally, the fabric is designed to be air-permeable, promoting ventilation and preventing condensation.

Every detail of the fabric is perfectly thought out for optimal performance. The zipper runners are rubber-coated to improve grip and minimize scratching noise even in strong winds. Double stitching of the fabric edges ensures exceptional strength and durability. It also ensures that your tent will last for years of use. With an emphasis on water resistance and impermeability, the entrances are closed with a Velcro strip, creating a secure seal.

The light inside the tent is provided by the James Baroud Portable Light. The lithium battery recharged via USB allows for several hours of operation before recharging.

It is removable and versatile for any camping occasion, thanks to built-in magnets that allow for instant and secure attachment to any metal surface or to attach it to a backpack strap for hiking. It also comes with a red light option to avoid attracting insects and improve night vision.

In addition, the tents are equipped with several pockets that can be easily attached to the ceiling using a reliable Velcro strip. These pockets offer a secure and accessible storage option for phones, small equipment, and other necessary items within reach whenever needed.

Even when closed, the shell roof tents have 20 cm of vertical space. This is enough to store two sleeping bags or blankets, two pillows, two sets of nightwear, and the James Baroud ladder.

When closing the tent, make sure that nothing is in the corners where the mechanisms fit to avoid damaging the tent cover.

James Baroud shell roof tents are standardly produced in white, but you can also order a color from the RAL7 palette, and we will make it and deliver it just for you.

James Baroud shell tents are equipped with a reliable lock system that ensures maximum security and comfort during your outdoor adventures. The Evolution locks are meticulously designed to prevent accidental opening. To unlock and open the locks, strong pressure must be applied to the locking pin on both sides while simultaneously pulling upwards. This ingenious mechanism ensures that the locks remain securely locked even in rough terrain and strong winds. For added security, the locks can be easily locked with a padlock, providing an additional layer of protection for your belongings.

Before lifting the tent shell, all locks must be opened. This ensures that the locks are properly released and the tent can be effortlessly lifted. The rear locks should be opened first to avoid damage.

The included James Baroud ladder adapts to the height of your vehicle, reaching a length of up to 2.4 m, supporting up to 200 kg, and featuring non-slip, ergonomically designed steps. The feet are rubberized for a firm grip on various terrains, and the construction allows for slight bending of the ladder during tent movement, so it does not damage the shell when secured in place.

Roof tents are equipped with a reliable locking mechanism for attaching the ladder to both sides of the tent. The locking mechanism, designed with durability in mind, uses a high-quality aluminum construction and offers a lightweight yet robust solution. Once locked in place at the desired angle, the ladder remains securely attached even during movement inside the tent or in strong winds.

The ladder comes with a practical PVC bag that provides protection from sand, mud, and water during transport. Additionally, the ladder can be easily stored inside when closing the tent, saving valuable space.

You can also order the optional James Baroud XL ladder, which has the same load capacity but extends up to a length of 3 m.

James Baroud Clamps have been redesigned to provide a versatile mounting solution for your roof tent. With an adjustable width range from 30 mm to 85 mm (1.18″ to 3.35″), they can securely attach the tent to the roof rails or roof rack of your vehicle.

These clamps are made of stainless, frost-resistant high-density polymer and are designed to provide a secure and reliable attachment of the roof tent, even when traversing challenging terrains and extreme roads. With a torque resistance of 14 Nm (10.32 lb-ft), they ensure a firm attachment of the tent and provide peace of mind during off-road adventures. Each James Baroud tent comes with three sets of mounting clamps, a total of six clamps, and additional clamps can be ordered separately for greater flexibility in your attachment.

The bottom shell of the tent is equipped with a pair of mounting rails located in the middle of the bottom part of the tent, with a distance of 65 cm between them. These specially designed rails are compatible with James Baroud mounting brackets and allow for easy attachment to any roof rack or crossbar. The secure and versatile mounting system ensures a safe attachment of the roof tent to the vehicle.

For optimal mounting, we recommend that your vehicle has at least two support crossbars for occasional camping and three support crossbars for off-road trips. The support bars should have a dynamic load capacity of 45 kg (100 pounds) each. The mounting process is simple and requires only a 6 mm hex key as the only tool.

James Baroud provides a 5-year warranty covering fiberglass, mechanism, canvas, tent supports, ladder and its attachment, zippers, mosquito net, mattresses, rails and attachment, upper shell upholstery.

The laminate finish, solar fan, LED light, and tent locks are covered by a standard 2-year warranty.
In case of a warranty repair request, an invoice and photos or video footage showing the defect will be required.
Parts and tent fabrics are available for many years even after the warranty expires. Each tent is equipped with a serial number, so the manufacturer knows which replacement parts fit even after many years.
